The Saturday that God slowed me down
Have you ever woken up and just felt joyful? Not the kind of Joy that was produced but placed on your heart? Well, come on in-grab a warm drink and lets talk about it. I woke up one Saturday morning in March and that is exactly how I felt. I made the choice to take things slow, lingering in bed a little longer, slowly sipping on coffee and letting myself be present in the moment, trusting God’s timing rather than rushing. Even when a minor inconvenience popped up, I didn’t let it steal my peace, I simply adjusted my plans and kept going, remembering that He is in every moment. When I was ready, I took a walk around my local town, popped into a few thrift stores, and stopped by the library to get some things printed. There was nothing flashy, just simple, everyday moments full of grace. it reminded me of what I talk about in my YouTube video on burnout: we get so caught up in doing, doing, doing and doing that we forget to rest in God’s design. Slowing down, enjoying the little joys, and trusting him with the pace of our day isn’t falling behind- it’s allowing ourselves to be renewed and reminded of his goodness.
